I find it personally satisfying to use color and texture in imagery to express thoughts, ideas, and emotion.  Digital and photographic techniques are my focus and I am looking forward to using movement to complement my backgrounds and creations. I find it important to use visualizations to emphasize information to positively affect the world; capturing people’s attention so they can experience information on various landscapes.

Project 1 final.jpg

Capstone

My intent is to pull the viewer into the ocean, have them relate to the food chain that is affected by littering, and to have the viewer walk away with a desire to not litter.  I created nine individual pieces that surround a tenth, center, piece for mounting on a wall.  The predator pieces are intended to be mounted on canvas as 12x16 inch pieces, the middle creatures as 10x14, and the small creatures as 8x12 inches this would make each side of the triangle about 42 inches to hold the food chains on the edges of the triangle providing a subtle impression of recycling.  The art is digital art using Photoshop based off of photos, drawings, and other media.  The trash images required over 50 layers each piece to cover the creature’s skeletons.  I like using as much color as possible to create mood and convey information.
